LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Available for virtually all building types, LEED provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.
Among the key sustainable features that the Gogue Center includes are:
- Reduced construction waste and pollution.
- Reinforced use of public transportation, bicycles, and fuel-efficient vehicles.
- Improved storm water management for Auburn University and the City of Auburn through reduced rainwater surface runoff.
- Reduced water and energy usage achieved with the use of high-efficiency fixtures and equipment and innovative building design.

The use of local and/or recyclable materials such as Alabama Limestone and regional brick.
